He is a licensed professional engineer whose work on Conservation Voltage Reduction was presented at the 2010 NRECA TechAdvantage Expo, the 2010 CRN Summit, the 2010 EUCI Volt-VAR Optimization Conference and reviewed in an article in Transmission and Distribution World Magazine. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE),the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the South Carolina Society of Professional Engineers (SCSPE).

John D. Bradford is the Business Development Manager at Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc in Raymondville, Texas. A 35-year veteran in the field of telecommunications, he began his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in the mid 1970s, followed by stints at AT&T, San Marcos Telephone Company and Lufkin-Conroe Telephone Exchange where he's held middle and executive level management jobs in the areas of sales, marketing, business development, and operations.
Bradford's management experience has expanded beyond the regulated telephone industry, as he has planned, developed, and operated deregulated affiliates providing wireless services, fiber optic transport, IPTV, and security services.
Bradford serves as Vice Chairman representing Willacy County on the Rio Grande Valley Partnership Chamber of Commerce, President of the Willacy County Industrial Foundation, a Board Member of Willacy County's Historical Commission, a Board Member of the Live Oak County Economic Development Corporation, a joint-Chairperson of the Texas Telephone Association's Convention Program Committee, and as an alternate member of the Association's Legislative Committee.


Chuck Callies

Chuck Callies is the Vice President of Power Delivery at Dairyland Power Cooperative and is responsible for the planning, construction, and maintenance of Dairyland’s transmission lines, substations, Information Services, telecommunications and control systems, and the System Operations Center. Mr. Callies has thirty-four years of experience in the electric utility industry. As a former Chairman of the North American Electric Reliability Council Telecommunications Sub-committee, he was instrumental in the development of NERCnet, the NERC data communications network. In addition to being a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Mr. Callies serves on the industry advisory boards of the University of Minnesota Center for Electric Energy, the Iowa State University Electric Power Research Center, and also served as a former President of the Siemens Customer Association.


Shannon Clark

Shannon Clark is CEO & General Manager for Richland Electric Cooperative, an electric distribution cooperative located in southwest Wisconsin. Clark has served in his present capacity for 14 years and previously held the post of Manager, Administrative and Member Services, a position he held for seven years.
Additionally, Clark serves as a systems administrator for Midwest Tel Net, a southwest Wisconsin based Internet Service Provider and operations manager for Genuine Telecom, a Richland Center competitive local exchange company. He is the District V Director for the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative and is a member of the NRECA Management Issues Committee.
A strong advocate for deployment of technology in rural areas, Clark often speaks or writes for various organizations about the importance of rural areas not being left behind.


Steve Collier

Steve Collier helps Milsoft with business strategy, plans and processes and he directs corporate marketing and business development activities. Beginning with Systems Planning at Houston Lighting & Power in the early 1970s, Collier worked as a consultant or executive for energy, telecommunications and information technology companies in the U.S. and abroad. Collier writes and speaks regularly on energy and telecommunications technologies and issues.

Dosch’s experience in the utility business began in 1975 with a distribution cooperative in Bismarck, ND.

Ryan Hentges

Ryan Hentges is Vice President of Corporate Services at Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative (MVEC). Hentges has direct responsibility for MVEC's technology, meter reading, billing, legal coordination and corporate wide programs. During his four years at the cooperative, Ryan has led a number of initiatives including the creation of an AMI business case and the resulting implementation. Prior to MVEC Ryan spent 9 years at Cargill in various I/T roles, including Product Manager for Cargill's Corporate IT.
Hentges' background also includes a law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, and an MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Jerry Jackson

Dr. Jerry Jackson, Leader and Research Director of the Smart Grid Research Consortium, is an energy economist with more than thirty years experience in utility forecasting, utility program development and financial analysis, and new energy technology market analysis. The Consortium is a nationwide collaborative of electric cooperatives, municipal and other public utilities devoted to evaluating the business case for smart grid investments ranging from the substation to in-premise applications. He was previously a professor at Texas A&M University and Chief of the Applied Research Division at Georgia Tech Research Institute. He is also president of Jackson Associates where he has worked with utilities, state regulatory agencies, equipment manufactures and others in addressing energy industry issues. His clients include utilities ranging from small coops and municipal utilities to the largest investor owned utilities in the US and Canada. He has assisted leading technology companies including United Technologies, Ingersoll Rand, Toyota, Ice Energy and others in analyzing and evaluating markets for new energy-related technologies including fuel cells, microturbines, combined heat and power, cool storage, flywheels, energy-efficiency/demand response technologies and demand response programs. . He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Florida.

As one of the NRECA National Consulting Group's authorized Technology Planning Business Associates, Mr. Johnson is a seasoned consultant who is expert in implementing strategies, processes, and technologies that enable clients to maximize their investment in technology such as AMI, GIS, SCADA and Communications. His 25-year career includes engineering, sales, marketing and executive management experiences with Westinghouse, Process Systems and Siemens.
In 2003, Mr. Johnson founded Katama Technologies, Inc. KTI enables Rural Electric Cooperatives to implement systems and information technologies to reduce capital costs and improve operational efficiencies. Mr. Johnson's knowledge of AMI reaches back 25 years with his experiences of power-line-carrier based load-management and metering systems. Prior to founding KTI, Mr. Johnson was the Vice President/General Manager for Siemens Energy Management and Information Systems Division (EMIS). In this role, Mr. Johnson led the EMIS effort to create an Application Service Provider (ASP) model to deliver energy market applications using enterprise integration technologies. PJM Interconnect and Midwest ISO are currently using this model originally utilized by the Alliance RTO.

Lowe began his career with NTCA in 2000 as an Internet Analyst then a Telecommunications Analyst. He has delivered technology focused speeches and presentations across the country and was the featured speaker before multi-state telecommunications groups. He has authored numerous articles for national telecommunications industry publications. Prior to coming on-board with NTCA, he worked with Intermedia (Digex) and PSINet as an Internet Consultant. He has owned and operated a small, independent business for over 20 years and is a certified telecommunications analyst who holds a professional certificate in Executive Coaching from Fielding Graduate University.


Martin Lowery

Martin Lowery is Executive Vice President, External Affairs of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). His overall responsibility is to ensure that NRECA excels in serving the needs of its 1,000 members and to assist in directing the implementation of the association's strategic plan.
Prior to being named Executive Vice President of External Affairs at NRECA, Lowery was manager of NRECA's Consulting, Training and Market Research Division. His responsibilities included directing the provision of services to NRECA member systems and allied organizations. Lowery has held other positions with NRECA and been employed with the association since 1982.
Lowery serves on the board of the Ralph K. Morris Foundation, the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) and currently holds the position of NCBA board chair. He also serves as an RE Advisors, Inc. board member.
Lowery holds a Ph.D. from Duke University, Durham, NC.


Rich Macke

Rich Macke leads the Rate and Financial Planning practice area of Power System Engineering, Inc. He has recently been working very closely with electric cooperatives in the design, implementation and evaluation of dynamic pricing pilots. Macke makes numerous presentations to cooperative Boards on rate matters and is a frequent presenter on issues concerning electric rates, cost of service and demand-side management at electric cooperative state and national conferences.


Brewster McCracken

Brewster McCracken is the President and Executive Director of the Pecan Street Project, an organization focused on research, development and testing all aspects of advanced energy management systems. McCracken also serves as the Mayor Pro Tem of Austin, Texas, and is in his second term on the Austin City Council. On the Council, McCracken chairs the Emerging Technologies Committee and the Land Use-Transportation Committee. He was instrumental in making Austin Energy the first public utility in the world to open its grid for clean-energy companies to test their technologies.


Tom Musick

Tom Musick joined Pioneer in 1998 as Manager of Engineering and was promoted to Director of Engineering & Operations in 2004. He is responsible for all facets of the engineering and operations departments including extensive safety initiatives, pursuing ways to manage distribution costs, and implementing consumer service reliability programs. Prior to joining Pioneer Tom worked at Dayton Power and Light Company in Troy, Ohio, performing system planning and line crew supervision duties for five years. He achieved certification as a Professional Engineer in 2002. Musick is a member of the International Electronic and Electrical Engineers Association (IEEE) and the Engineering and Operations Sub-Committee for National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC).
