the 2011 Gridposium event, co-sponsored by National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) and National Rural Telephone Cooperative (NRTC) was held at the Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Texas. The event featured two days of informational sessions from Smart Grid Leaders in both the Utility and Telecommunications industries.
In his opening Gridposium presentation, entitled "The Power of Data, From Bits to the Cloud, NISC CEO Vern Dosch sets the scene in this primer on how smart utilties will handle the estimated 900 percent increase data coming from new devices on the grid.
